About

‘Fabulously hot-blooded.’ The Times

Opening for Marcelo Bratke's 'Bach & Bachianas' at Southbank Centre's Purcell Room, TangOpera showcases the exuberant world of Latin American art song, where 'lied' and 'opera' transcend traditional barriers to meet the irresistible, vibrant rhythms of tango, Latin jazz, folk and popular music. Featuring specialist Iberican pianist Helen Glaisher-Hernández and the unique voice of soprano Maya Sapone, TangOpera offers the definitive guide to Latin America’s most captivating classical melodies.

This concert is organised by ILAMS in collaboration with ¡Como No! as part of La Linea festival, with the kind support of TAM and Arts Council England.
