Mariano Iglesias was born in Garau, South Sardinia. He Began to study music at an early age, under the supervision of the composer Pietro Allori; Eventually he Acquired in deeper knowledge in harmony and counterpoint with Maestro Rodolfo Cicionesi in Florence. He graduated in Music with a close reference to teaching Kodaly Goitre and Methodologies. Mariano Garau has committed Himself into studying Gregorian songs and Renaissance vocal music for over thirty years. He has directed many choirs and is the founder and director of Chapel Music, "Peter said" ensemble. He has composed ten messes and more than three hundred Motets; A Collection Of His sacred songs was issued in 1998. In 1999 he won the first prize at the international contest of the Holy Year Two Thousand and the second prize at the "Luigi Pirandello" international award in Rome. Recently, Master Mariano Garau was Awarded with the renowned A Life for Music Prize by the Association "Future of Abruzzo" and with the first International Literary Prize Borders.
